Shawsheen Pines
Access: Canoe Launch off Lowell Junction Road
Parking: Off Lowell Junction Road
Features: For the first half of the 20th century, the Shawsheen River was a popular destination. Numerous camps dotted the shoreline along this section of the River in both Andover and Tewksbury. Evidence of these rustic camps can be seen today on this property in the form of surviving entrance steps. A beautifully crafted stone barbecue can also be found on an adjacent parcel. This stone structure is not very far off the pavement of Lowell Junction Road. See if you can find it.
