Many people prefer spending time on the trails with a buddy or an organized group for both safety and companionship. Below are links to local organizations. 

AVIS- offers many organized hikes on a semi-regular schedule. 

Friends of Harold Parker- offers group hikes every Wednesday morning at 10 am. Usually staring from Park Headquarters. Sign up for their email list to receive more information and occasional changes.

Essex County Greenbelt - offers monthly walks and trail runs on a variety of properties (including Den Rock Park). See ecga.org

Andover’s Robb Center/Senior Services- offers a variety of programs, including separate men’s (usually Wednesday mornings) and women’s Outdoor Adventure groups (usually Friday mornings), Nordic walking classes. Information is posted on the center’s bulletin board, listed in the bi-monthly newsletter, and in the weekly columns in the Andover Townsman and Eagle Tribune newspapers.
