A Golden Success
The prize was for a gold trophy. But the story behind this extraordinary treasure event was priceless. Held at Oak & Iron over two sessions, the events attracted over 100 attendees. And the story spawned our own treasure hunt on Andover Trails. Dan’s moment of triumph was short-lived. A fellow contestant posted a photo of the trophy online, revealing the code to the bitcoin bounty. Fortunately, the game’s creator, Jason Rohrer, had not yet transferred the money, allowing him to create a second hunt. The new challenge introduced fresh obstacles, including a complex puzzle and discerning trustworthy allies. In the end, Dan received the trophy and the 2nd bounty.
